About Me

I’m Lindsay Johnson, msn, rn!

I’m a Registered Nurse from Tucson with ten years of experience in hospital nursing.

I spent the majority of my career in the the highest acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Southern Arizona. During my time at the bedside, I cared for the sickest of the sickest patients, witnessing them suffer physically, emotionally, and financially. My colleagues and I worked tirelessly to fix the unfixable, despite the miracles of modern medicine. I knew that there had to be a better way.

Before ending my career in the hospital, I worked for corporate, entering nursing data for nine different hospitals into a database. I’d look at the data for hundreds of faceless patients who had fallen in the hospital each quarter and brainstorm ways the bedside nurses could prevent it from my little home office. It was devastating and I couldn’t wait to quit.  Again, I knew there had to be a better way.

And then, I became a mama. I soon realized that modern mothers, particularly those who have been oppressed due to their skin color, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or class, don’t have the level of support and nurturing they require. We are expected to be everything for everyone. Our society has failed us, and as a result, we put ourselves last, placing us at risk for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual illness and dis-ease. We are left unbalanced, depleted, and lonely, in desperate need for the community care that we once had. Again, I knew there was a better way.

It was time to take the leap of faith. I quit my high paying corporate job and registered for the International Nurse Coach Association certification program. Now, I am an Integrative Nurse Coach.

As a nurse coach, I take a holistically guided approach, believing that you are a unique, whole being with the innate ability to heal yourself. While modern medicine works miracles and the nurses, physicians, and other members of the health care team are fantastically talented and caring, there is a better way! It’s not enough just to treat illness and manage disease. It’s time to recognize that healing is a deeply personal process, and I am here to help you get there.

I have two little girls who light up my life and an amazing superstar husband who keeps me grounded.

I am a regular at my local barre3 studio and our family loves to get outside and enjoy the plethora of hikes in the Tucson area. In the evenings, you can find me in the kitchen. Sometimes, it even winds me down. Sometimes.

I am a sucker for kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, and seriously good food. In my downtime, you can find me hanging out with my girls, cozying up with a cup of tea and a good book (give me your best recommendations), meditating, or watching good or bad television in the evenings with my husband.

What is a Nurse Coach?

As a nurse coach, I partner with you, listen mindfully to your needs, desires, and motivations, and work with you to create and achieve your goals. I combine the science of medicine and the art of nursing, utilizing integrative methodologies when desired. I treat the patient holistically, understanding that human beings are a collection of parts, inseparable from their environment. Rather than telling you what to do, I am aware that you the expert in their health and will guide the way. You are unique! I am dedicated to my own health and wellness, as it is impossible to give great care without first caring for myself.
